You can play a part in FQ’s music-making and delivery of high quality education and industry development programs. We’d love to hear from you.

We may just be four musicians, but the Flinders Quartet family is far reaching as we continue our purpose of celebrating the ongoing relevance of the string quartet in 21st century Australia. From our ongoing residency at Footscray High School, to our celebrated composer programs, to our much loved and innovative subscription series, recordings and ongoing work as Artistic Patrons of Itet, John Noble’s quartet program, and mentors of Musica Viva’s Strike a Chord program, your support will help as many people as possible have access to great chamber music.

Here is a menu of options - take your pick!

GENERAL SUPPORT

You can help us provide free concert tickets to Footscray High School and other public school students; support our mentoring work with regional, amateur and highly advanced musicians through the Itet, Resonance String Orchestra and Musica Viva Australia Strike a Chord programs; continue to present our subscription concerts; record important Australian works; discover and promote highly talented composers, and generally keep us running (we’re creatives, we know how to implement big ideas with small budgets…).

The Australian public has been given a gift by this wonderful, youthful group of fine musicians and we are rightly proud of the position of the FQ in the Australian music scene and in particular, chamber music.
— Anne Findlay, donor

FQ SYNDICATE

If you’d like to be a part of a new commission with other like-minded people, consider joining an FQ commissioning syndicate. Having successfully raised funds for five new works, we’re getting ready to announce FQ Syndicate #6. For $500 (or more), you can help us create a brand new work for string quartet. Find out more here.

FIFTH STRING DONOR PROGRAM

For an annual donation of $1,000 or more, you can have exclusive access to FQ events and together with our Board (led by Julian Burnside AO KC) you will play a significant role in FQ’s future planning. Find out more here

FLINDERS QUARTET INC. is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), and has TCC endorsement and DGR status.

I choose to support FQ on the strength of the work they do in mentoring young and upcoming musicians and emerging composers. This support is crucial to the future of chamber music and is an aspect of their work which is as important as performance and often goes unnoticed.
— Linda Herd, Fifth String Member
