SUPPORT FQ
You can play a part in FQ’s music-making and delivery of high quality education and industry development programs. We’d love to hear from you.
We may just be four musicians, but the Flinders Quartet family is far reaching as we continue our purpose of amplifying the role of the string quartet in 21st century Australia. From our ongoing residency at Footscray High School, our celebrated composer programs, our much loved and innovative subscription series, recordings, ongoing work as Artistic Patrons of Itet, John Noble’s quartet program, and mentors of Musica Viva’s Strike a Chord program, your support will help as many people as possible have access to great chamber music.

“The Australian public has been given a gift by this wonderful, youthful group of fine musicians and we are rightly proud of the position of the FQ in the Australian music scene and in particular, chamber music.”

CONTRIBUTE TO SPECIFIC PROJECTS:
Listen to the Land:
New string quartets by First Peoples composers - uniting music, culture, and environment
[Time-limited] Curated by Chris Sainsbury (composer, academic, Dharug person, and founder of the Ngarra-Burria First Peoples Composers Initiative), Listen to the Land is a living, breathing exploration of the bond between music and place.
As bushwalkers and lifelong lovers of the natural world, we dream of music that can carry someone back to a windswept ridge, a quiet riverbend, a stretch of desert sky, or lead them there for the first time. Over the coming years, this growing collection of works will ripple outward: performed, recorded, and shared so that music lovers may find nature, and nature lovers may find music.
This is just the beginning. We’re continuing to raise funds to bring more of these works to life, supporting creative collaborations and recordings that connect audiences more deeply with place and story.
ALL-ROUND SUPPORT FOR FQ:
Support FQ Activities
Your donation will help us provide free concert tickets to public high school students, mentor regional, amateur, and advanced musicians through programs like Itet, Resonance String Orchestra, and Musica Viva Australia’s Strike a Chord. It will also support our subscription concerts, the development of Australian works and home-grown composers, and generally keep us running (we’re creatives, we know how to implement big ideas with small budgets!)

— Linda Herd, Fifth String Member
