Helen Ireland, a graduate of the Canberra School of Music, was awarded the Erica Haas prize for chamber music. She participated in several Australian Youth Orchestra tours, becoming principal viola of the Camerata in 1998. In 1996, Helen was finalist in the viola competition at the International Winter School for Strings. Helen was worked with many leading Australian Orchestras, including the Tasmanian Symphony orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. After two years as a scholarship student at the Australian National academy of Music, she is in demand as both player and teacher, working regularly with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria. Helen is currently studying to become a feldenkrais practitioner. Her passion for cooking is being aided by fresh produce from her vegie patch in St. Kilda! Individual Biographies
